Morador da Península Malaia, o Monarca-azul chama a atenção com seu colorido belíssimo de azuis.
Habita as belas florestas da região, parece preferir a presença de bambu.
Migrante, chega até Índia, China e até o Irã.
Alimenta-se de insetos. Voa do pouso para capturar insetos em pleno voo ou adeja à frente de folhas para perturbar os insetos e fazê-los sair de seus esconderijos.
Nessa prancha retratei o casal, que pode ser sempre visto junto, próximo ao ninho com dois filhotes recém nascidos.
Foi muito prazeroso ilustrar mais uma espécie de ave dessa região mágica do Sudeste Asiático, da qual sou fâ!!!
