A fêmea não tem o vermelho na cabeça, que é preta.
Sendo muito sociável é possível ver vários ninhos em um mesmo tronco!
Alimenta-se principalmente de frutas e é espécie comum em comedouros para aves na Mata Atlântica Brasileira.
Vive desde a Bahia, até Paraguai e Argentina ( Missiones).
Nessa ilustração usei a aquarela e o guache para dar a cor viva que essa ave possui!
